Co-Creating Engagement at Scale: How Academic Collaboration & Student Partnership Transformed UCD Smurfit Careers Services
In a challenging graduate employment market, engaging students early and consistently with careers support has never been more important. This session explores how the Smurfit Careers team increased student engagement by strengthening collaboration internally with academics and staff, and by partnering with a Digital Marketing graduate to co-create a more effective, student-centred communications strategy.
Through targeted use of platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram and email and by embedding careers more closely into the academic environment, the team significantly increased visibility and participation, achieving a 67% increase in event bookings and a 46% rise in engagement.
The session will share practical strategies, lessons learned, and ideas that can be adapted to strengthen alignment, modernise communication, and scale student engagement.
